Information Regarding Pet Health Insurance
What is pet health insurance? Pet insurance helps pet owners to offset some of the immediate cost of veterinary care. The pet owner (policy holder) pays a monthly premium to the pet insurance company which provides reimbursement the pet owner for covered medical and surgical care the pet has received from us. We recommend that all pets be covered by pet health insurance.
Unlike human health insurance, we are not involved in processing pet insurance claim. There are no co-pays or concerns if your veterinarian participates in your plan. Insurance is “accepted” everywhere because the contract is strictly between the pet owner and the insurance company.
We encourage you to explore your options with different companies before you purchase pet insurance for your dog or cat. Each insurance company offers different reimbursement rates, and covered treatment plans may differ between companies. It is best to choose a policy early in your pet’s life, while they are healthy.
